I am proficient in Chicago and AP style. I have training and experience in copy and substantive editing. I have gained experience editing a wide range of content such as memoirs, non-fiction, government documents, marketing copy, and more. See below for details.
STYLE GUIDES
The following style guides were created for PhoneSoap and PointCard. PhoneSoap's editorial style guide is a comprehensive compilation of important Chicago rules PhoneSoap follows as well as instances when PhoneSoap's copy differs. It also outlines branding guidelines and terms specific to PhoneSoap. I also created a marketing guide for PhoneSoap that defined guidelines for different marketing channels and common marketing language. The guide for PointCard was created specifically to define common terms and outline when the trademark would be used in copy.
PRESS RELEASE EXAMPLE
Below is a mock press release created for a manuscript called May 2020. This press release demonstrates correct formatting and important elements such as headline, subhead, dateline, release date, author biography, and a quote from a reader.
PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION
Below is the production documentation for Apple's Airpods Pro. I did a thorough edit to ensure readability. I performed both copy and substantive editing using Chicago Style. Many of my edits focused on increasing clarity for the reader and making the formatting simple and easy to understand. The edits can be seen through Microsoft's Track Changes features.
LEASE AGREEMENT
This is a lease agreement between the Utah Department of Transportation and Riverton City. I edited for diction, tone, clarity, readability, and basic copyediting errors. Many of my edits removed redundancy and fixed formatting issues.
UTAH DRIVER HANDBOOK |
I edited this PDF of the Utah Driver Handbook for coherency, clarity, format, and copy edits. I made sure that items that were similar matched in format (listed definitions) and that the information was presented clearly.
